12 Days of Christmas

It doesn’t matter how much planning you do at Christmas time, something happens to throw a spanner in the works.

But that’s what makes Xmas such a fun time of year, well at least it is if you let things slide and just go with the flow.

It will be my first Xmas with Rosie, our first Xmas just Fabian and I as we intend to stay at home and just enjoy some family time. Although Rosie is not very well, poorly with a tummy bug.

I’m sitting here watching the film Pollyanna, about a little orphan girl who sees the joy in everything. She plays a game called the glad game, where even in the worst situation you still have to find something you are glad of.

That is my new motto.

I went for a run a couple of days ago to go and buy my last gift and I plan to go for a short run once the dinner is on tomorrow. I am glad that I am willing and able to do this.

I am glad that I am a runner again. So in light of this I have written a little poem. (It should be sung in the time of the 12 days of Xmas)

I hope you enjoy

On the 12th day of Training my Running gave to me 12 muscles cramping, 11 bits of race bling, 10 time chips bleeping, 9 ladies racing, 8 mates a cheering, 7 dreams of winning, 6 shoes a lacing, 5 PBs, 4 cursing words, 3 race pens, 2 pairs of gloves and a bandage for my dodgy knee

Silly I know but hey it’s Xmas

Hope you have a good one. Finding joy and smiles in the little things has been my project this year. Hopefully I can continue next year too. 🙂 loved the poem.

Great stuff- Love reading it. Are you married ??? As an overgrown runner (half crippled former footballer) love seeing and reading of others having fun.

    Keep going. https://twitter.com/martyroddy
